Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C). Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

  2. Beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy; then add brown and granulated sugar, beating for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.

  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla until smooth.

  4. Slowly beat in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.

  5. Fold chocolate chips into the dough.

  6. Drop 1.5 to 2 tablespoon mounds of dough onto prepared sheets, leaving space, then gently shape and flatten with wet fingers.

  7. Bake for 9-13 minutes until set and lightly browned; rotate sheets halfway through if baking two at once.

  8. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
