Slow Cooker Pinto Bean Chili With Ground Beef

Instructions

  1. Rinse pinto beans, then combine them with water in a slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours, or until tender.

  2. In a skillet, heat oil, cook onion, bell pepper, and hot pepper until softened, then transfer to the slow cooker.

  3. Cook ground beef in the same skillet until no longer pink, drain, then transfer to the slow cooker.

  4. Stir in tomatoes and chili powder with the beef and beans, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Reduce slow cooker heat to low and cook for an additional 3 to 4 hours.

  6. Serve topped with optional garnishes.
