Slow Cooker Pear Butter Recipe

Start boiling water for a water bath canner.

Peel, core, and cut pears into 1-inch chunks.

Combine chopped pears, water or juice, sweetener, lemon juice, and zest in a slow cooker; cook on high for 4 to 5 hours until soft.

Transfer soft pears to a blender, reserving cooking liquid; puree, adding reserved liquid as needed for a thick, spreadable consistency.

Fill clean jars with pear butter, removing air bubbles and leaving 1/2-inch headspace.

Secure jars with 2-piece lids and process in the boiling water bath for 20 minutes.
