Slow Cooker Manhattan-Style Clam Chowder

Instructions

Fry or bake diced bacon until crispy; drain and add to a 3 1/2-quart or larger slow cooker.

Add all remaining ingredients to the slow cooker and stir to combine.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

To thicken, stir in the optional flour and melted butter mixture 30 minutes before the end of cooking.

Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, then serve hot with saltines or oyster crackers.
