Instructions

  1. Grease a crock pot and preheat on high for 20 minutes.

  2. Bring milk, cornmeal, and salt to a boil; boil, stirring, for 5 minutes.

  3. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. In a large bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, molasses, butter, and spices; gradually beat in the hot cornmeal mixture and whisk until smooth.

  5. Stir in raisins or chopped dates.

  6. Pour the mixture into the crock pot and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
