Instructions

  1. Trim fat from pork ribs; brown ribs in oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Layer onion slices in a slow cooker, then arrange the seared ribs over them.

  3. Combine ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, cider vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, minced garlic, celery seed, and black pepper in a small bowl to create the sauce.

  4. Pour the sauce over the ribs and onions.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours.
