Slow Cooker Country Style Beef Ribs

Instructions

  1. Combine ketchup, half the red wine, soy sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, herbes de Provence, dry mustard, black pepper, and optional cayenne in a bowl; set aside.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large pan, then cook onion for 1-2 minutes, add garlic for 1 minute more; transfer cooked aromatics to the sauce mixture.

  3. Season ribs with salt and pepper, then sear all sides in the same hot pan until browned (about 2 minutes per side); transfer seared ribs to a slow cooker.

  4. Deglaze the hot pan with the remaining red wine for 15-30 seconds, then reduce heat.

  5. Add the prepared sauce mixture to the pan, heat for 1-2 minutes, and then pour it over the ribs in the slow cooker.

  6. Cook on high for 30 minutes, then reduce to low and continue cooking for 6-8 hours until fork-tender.
