Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef Short Ribs

Instructions

  1. Rub ribs with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and sear ribs on all sides for 2-3 minutes until browned.

  3. Transfer seared ribs to the slow cooker insert.

  4. Combine beef stock, red wine, 1/4 cup water, and optional liquid smoke in a bowl.

  5. Pour stock mixture over ribs in the slow cooker, set to medium heat, and cook for 2.5-3 hours.

  6. After 2.5-3 hours, drain all liquid from the slow cooker, keeping ribs in the insert.

  7. Mix barbecue sauce, 3 tablespoons water, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, chili powder, and garlic powder in a bowl.

  8. Pour barbecue sauce mixture over ribs, reduce slow cooker heat to low, and cook for another 2-3 hours.

  9. Stir before serving.
