Simple Shirred Eggs With Cheese

Baked shirred eggs are a simple and delicious dish, prepared in ramekins with butter, cream, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Coat the bottoms and sides of 4 ramekins with 1 teaspoon of melted butter each.

  3. Break 2 eggs into each ramekin, then add 2 tablespoons of heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.

  5. During the last minute or two of baking, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese over each egg.
