Simple Sausage and Cheddar Quiche
A simple and satisfying quiche featuring savory sausage and sharp cheddar cheese is perfect for special occasion brunches.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C).

To make the optional crust, combine flour and salt, cut in cold butter until crumbly, then add ice water to form a ball; chill for 30 minutes.

Roll out chilled dough to an 11-12 inch circle and fit into a 9-inch pie plate, then trim and crimp edges.

Line the crust with foil and pie weights, then pre-bake for 8-10 minutes.

Remove crust from oven, discard foil and weights, and let cool.

Brown sausage in a skillet, drain thoroughly, and set aside.

Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, thyme, and pepper.

Distribute cooked sausage over the pre-baked crust, then top with shredded cheese.

Pour egg mixture over the sausage and cheese.

Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until set and lightly browned.
