Simple Pear Cobbler Recipe with Fresh Fruit and Sweet Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F (165 C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix 3-4 cups sliced pears with 1/2 cup sugar; let stand.

  3. Melt 4 ounces unsalted butter in a 2-quart baking dish in the oven for 5 minutes.

  4. In another bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

  5. Whisk 3/4 cup milk and 1 egg in a small bowl.

  6. Slowly incorporate the milk-egg mixture into the dry ingredients to create a batter.

  7. Pour the batter over the melted butter, then spoon the pears on top; do not stir either layer.

  8. Bake 50-60 minutes, or until browned and pears are tender; cover with foil if browning too quickly.

  9. Remove and cool slightly before serving.
