Simple Meat Lasagna

A hearty meat lasagna features ground beef, a trio of cheeses, tomato sauce, and classic lasagna noodles.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F and spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 7 minutes, then drain excess fat.

  3. Combine ricotta cheese, eggs, 1/2 cup Asiago, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper in a bowl.

  4. Spread 3/4 cup spaghetti sauce on the bottom of the prepared dish, then layer with four lasagna noodles.

  5. Evenly spread half of the ricotta mixture, half of the ground beef, then sprinkle with 1 cup Asiago cheese and 1/3 of the remaining spaghetti sauce.

  6. Repeat the layer with four noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, remaining ground beef, shredded Parmesan cheese, and another 1/3 of the remaining spaghetti sauce.

  7. Place the final four lasagna noodles, cover with any remaining spaghetti sauce, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

  8. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.

  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  10. Rest lasagna for at least 15 minutes before serving.
