Simple and Delicious Buttered Herb Pasta
A versatile buttered herb pasta, simple enough for children yet sophisticated for adults, makes an excellent side dish.

Instructions

Start boiling 4-5 quarts of salted water.

Add pasta and cook for 2 minutes less than package directions.

Test pasta for al dente texture.

Reserve 1/3 cup pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Return pasta to the pot.

Add butter, parsley, and basil; toss with tongs, adding reserved pasta water as needed to thicken.

Toss over low heat for 1-2 minutes, sprinkle with cheese if desired, and serve immediately.
