Sichuan Peppercorn Salt Recipe

Instructions

  1. Combine salt and peppercorns in a heavy frying pan.

  2. Toast the mixture over medium-low heat for 8-10 minutes, shaking continuously, until smoke appears and peppercorns are fragrant. Allow to cool.

  3. Grind the cooled mixture using a blender, food processor, mortar and pestle, or rolling pin until peppercorns are crushed.

  4. Store in a sealed jar at room temperature.
