Shredded Chicken in Tomato Sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat for 6 to 7 minutes until tender.

  2. Add chicken, tomato sauce, taco sauce, salt, green bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, pepper, and sugar to the skillet, then stir thoroughly.

  3. Simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and the chicken reaches 160 F.

  4. Remove chicken with tongs, shred it, then return to the sauce and simmer for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
