Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and coat a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix cornmeal, salt, butter, eggs, and 1 cup milk for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the remaining 1 cup milk and mix for another 5 minutes.

  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake until golden, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  5. Cut the cornbread into squares while still in the pan, then bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes for a total baking time of 50 to 60 minutes, ensuring all sides are crusty.

  6. Serve warm.
