Instructions

Melt butter and oil in a saucepan; add orzo and stir over medium heat until golden brown.

Stir in uncooked rice until coated, then add chicken broth, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil (adjust salt if using bouillon).

Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes until liquid is absorbed.

Remove from heat, keeping covered, and let rest for 5 minutes.

Before serving, stir the rice to separate grains.
