Seattle Hot Dog Recipe

Instructions

  1. Split each hot dog or sausage lengthwise, keeping the halves together.

  2. Heat a sauté or grill pan on high heat. Add oil, onions, and salt, then sauté or grill for 2 to 3 minutes until softened and browned; remove the onions from the pan.

  3. Sear the hot dogs or sausages in the same pan for about 2 minutes per side until heated through and lightly browned; cover to keep warm.

  4. Toast the split buns face-down in the pan until lightly browned.

  5. Place hot dogs in buns, then top with grilled onions, softened cream cheese (piped from a bag), fresh jalapeno slices, Sriracha, mustard, and optional sauerkraut.
