Savory Turkey Brine

Instructions

Heat vegetable stock, salt, sugar, rosemary, sage, and thyme in a large pot over medium heat, simmering for 15 minutes until salt dissolves.

Remove from heat, cool for at least 30 minutes, then add cold water.

Place turkey in a large container, pour cold brine over it, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour per pound.

Before cooking, thoroughly rinse the turkey, then discard used brine and clean the container.

Pat the turkey dry, apply rub if desired, then cook and serve.
