Savory Serbian Gibanica With Feta Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Beat cream cheese until fluffy, then incorporate 3 eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in cottage cheese and feta cheese.

  3. Fold two filo sheets in half and place into a lightly buttered 13x9-inch pan.

  4. Brush the filo with melted butter, then spread with about 1/2 cup of the cheese filling. Repeat this layering until only three filo sheets remain.

  5. Cover with the final three filo sheets and brush with any remaining butter.

  6. Place the pan on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for approximately 1 hour or until golden.

  7. Allow to rest for 15-20 minutes before cutting into squares and serving warm.
