Savory Cheese and Herb Biscuits
Flavorful cheddar biscuits, seasoned with parsley and Italian herbs, make an excellent accompaniment to soup or chili.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Prepare a baking sheet by greasing and flouring, or lining with parchment.

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and dry mustard.

Cut butter into the dry ingredients until crumbly.

Add shredded cheese, Italian seasoning, parsley, and milk; mix until just moistened.

Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.

Roll dough to 3/4-inch thick; cut into rounds or squares and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Optionally, brush biscuit tops with milk.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until browned.
