Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Trim brown ends from fiddlehead ferns and rinse them with cool water.

  3. Boil fiddleheads in salted water for 15 minutes until tender.

  4. Drain and rinse with cold water until cool, then pat dry.

  5. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add fiddleheads and cook, stirring, until edges brown, about 4 minutes.

  6. Stir in garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Season with salt and serve.
