Sausage Bread

An easy appetizer bread made with store-bought dough combines savory sausage and cheese for a pizza-like flavor, excellent for dipping.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Brown the sausage in a large skillet, breaking it into small pieces, then drain on paper towels.

  3. Whisk eggs, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning in a bowl; reserve 3 tablespoons of this mixture.

  4. On a floured surface, roll out thawed bread dough into a 9x13-inch rectangle.

  5. Brush the dough with the egg mixture (excluding the reserved portion), then layer with cooked sausage and shredded cheese.

  6. Roll the dough from the long end like a jelly roll, pinching the edges and ends to seal.

  7. Place the roll seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with the reserved egg mixture, and bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Slice and serve with marinara sauce.
