Sandwich Slaw

Instructions

  1. Prepare cabbage by removing outer leaves, halving, coring, and then shredding it into thin strips, cutting them shorter as desired.

  2. Wash the shredded cabbage in a colander, then drain thoroughly using a salad spinner or by shaking.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk together onion, white vinegar, mayonnaise, garlic, sugar, black pepper, and salt.

  4. Add the drained cabbage and toss to coat evenly.

  5. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to chill before serving.

  6. Serve chilled as a side or on sandwiches.
