Salted Caramel Cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Cream brown sugar and butter until fluffy; mix in egg and vanilla.

  3. Combine flour, baking soda, and table salt separately, then mix into the butter mixture.

  4. Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.

  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, place on baking sheets, and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Cool cookies on a wire rack.

  7. Microwave caramels and heavy cream in 30-second intervals until smooth, stirring after each interval.

  8. Drizzle melted caramel over each cooled cookie, re-heating caramel if it thickens.

  9. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and allow caramel to set at room temperature.
