Instructions

  1. Rinse dried mushrooms and break them into small pieces.

  2. Place mushrooms in a pot with 8 cups cold water, salt, and garlic; cover and simmer for at least 2 hours until tender.

  3. Sauté chopped onion in butter or oil until browned, then stir into the soup.

  4. Simmer the soup for several minutes.

  5. Serve, optionally with non-dairy and non-meat stuffed pirzohki or pelmeni.
