Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan, optionally lining it with parchment.

  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, cooking for 5 minutes until browned with a nutty aroma and brown flecks; transfer to a large bowl to cool.

  3. Whisk brown sugar into the cooled browned butter, then add and whisk the egg and vanilla.

  4. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Fold in nuts, 2 ounces of ruby chocolate, and half of the freeze-dried berries.

  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 24 minutes until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center has moist crumbs.

  6. While hot, sprinkle with white chocolate and the remaining ruby chocolate; allow to melt, then spread and swirl to create a marbled design.

  7. Sprinkle the remaining crushed freeze-dried berries evenly over the chocolate before it sets.

  8. Cool completely to room temperature before cutting into squares and serving.
