Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium heat (350F to 375F).

Cut chicken into 1 1/2-inch cubes.

Combine chopped herbs, pepper, lemon juice, sugar, ginger, garlic, and plain yogurt in a zip-top bag.

Add chicken cubes to the bag, ensuring all pieces are coated, and refrigerate for at least three hours or overnight.

Mince garlic with salt until it forms a paste.

Whisk the garlic paste with oil for approximately 3 minutes until well combined and emulsified.

Stir in sour cream and black pepper; set the sauce aside.

Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers (pre-soak wooden skewers in water for about an hour).

Grill kebabs on greased grates for 10 to 15 minutes, turning them several times, until cooked through.
