Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

  2. Rinse chard stems, pat them dry, and trim any brown bits.

  3. Coat a baking dish with half of the oil, arrange stems in a single layer, then drizzle with remaining oil and sprinkle with salt.

  4. Cover the dish with foil, bake for 10 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking for 20 more minutes, or until tender and lightly browned.

  5. Serve hot, warm, or at room temperature, with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice if desired.
