Rich and Creamy Oyster Pie Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.

  2. Spread 1 cup of cracker crumbs into a lightly buttered pie plate, then layer with 1 cup of oysters, seasoned with salt and pepper.

  3. Repeat the cracker, oyster, and seasoning layers three more times.

  4. Combine 1/2 cup oyster liquor with 1/2 cup heavy cream and pour evenly over the top oyster layer.

  5. Dot the top with butter.

  6. Let the pie stand for 5 to 10 minutes.

  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the top begins to brown and oysters are hot.

  8. Turn the oven to broil at 550 F and broil for 3 to 4 minutes, until well browned, being careful not to overcook.
