Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

If using cream cheese for the hot chocolate, blend it with one cup of milk until smooth in either a blender or directly in a medium saucepan using a stick blender.

Combine the remaining hot chocolate ingredients, excluding the food coloring, in the same medium saucepan and warm over medium heat, whisking until the white chocolate melts, the cocoa powder blends, and the drink is creamy.

Whisk in red food coloring, adding drops until the desired deep, rich red color is achieved.

For the cream cheese whipped cream, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a stand mixer and whip until smooth.

While the mixer runs, slowly add the cream and continue whipping until firm peaks form.

Serve the hot chocolate topped with a scoop of cream cheese whipped cream and red sprinkles, if desired.
