Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sear the beef in oil over medium-high heat until browned, working in batches if necessary.

  2. Add onions and saute for 5 minutes, then stir in garlic and cornmeal, cooking for 1 minute.

  3. Add all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally and adjusting thickness with water.
