Rakott Teszta (Hungarian Baked Dessert Noodles)

Hungarian baked dessert noodles, known as rakott teszta or rakott metelt, are a sweet dish similar to a Jewish kugel.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and lightly coat a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.

  2. Blend melted butter, cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, and sugar in a food processor until smooth.

  3. Combine cooked egg noodles with the blended mixture and raisins in a large bowl.

  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan.

  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove the foil, then sprinkle with 1/2 cup sliced almonds.

  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 to 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Remove from the oven, cut into squares, and serve hot, optionally sprinkled with confectioners' sugar.
