Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve active dry yeast in warm water for 5 minutes.

  2. Whisk in warm milk, melted butter, salt, sugar, and flour until the batter is smooth. Cover and let the batter stand at room temperature overnight.

  3. Before cooking, beat eggs and baking soda into the batter; it will be thin.

  4. Heat a waffle iron. Pour batter onto the hot iron and cook until golden brown.

  5. Store cooled leftover waffles in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or wrap in foil and freeze for up to 3 months.
