Quick Shrimp Stock: A Flavorful Base for Seafood Dishes

Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat.

Add shells from one pound of shrimp, toss, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring often.

Pour in 1 1/2 cups water, bring to a simmer, pressing shells with a spatula, and continue simmering for 5 to 7 minutes.

Strain the liquid into a saucepan through a mesh strainer, pressing the shells to extract all stock.

Season with a pinch of salt if desired.
