Quick Sherry Trifle

Instructions

  1. Arrange 10 ounces of cake slices in a trifle dish or individual glasses.

  2. Slice 10 ounces of strawberries, reserving some for garnish, then layer them over the cake; lightly press berries and sprinkle with optional 6 tablespoons sherry.

  3. Spoon 2 cups of custard evenly over the strawberries.

  4. Top with a thick layer of whipped cream.

  5. Garnish with reserved strawberry slices and toasted sliced almonds.
