Quick Pear Streusel Coffee Cake

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and butter an 8-inch-square baking pan.

  2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix egg, milk, and melted butter; pour into dry ingredients and mix well, then fold in the pears.

  4. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared pan.

  5. For the streusel, combine sugar and flour in a small bowl, then cut in butter until crumbs form.

  6. Sprinkle the streusel mixture evenly over the cake batter.

  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden and set.

  8. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into 8 squares.
