Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

  2. Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan.

  3. For the streusel, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter; mix until blended. Stir in oatmeal until crumbly, then set aside.

  4. In a large bowl, beat eggs; then add milk, sugar, oil, and vanilla, mixing well after each addition.

  5. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.

  6. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until moistened; lumps are acceptable.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

  8. Evenly sprinkle the reserved oatmeal streusel over the batter.

  9. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center is clean.

  10. Cool for 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
