Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F for roasting, or preheat broiler to high for that cooking method.

To pan-fry: Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then sear pork chops 4 to 5 minutes per side until lightly golden.

To grill: Oil the grate and heat grill to medium, then cook chops 5 to 7 inches from heat for 5 minutes per side, turning once; if thicker than 1/2 inch, cook 7 minutes per side.

To broil (as an alternative to grilling): Place chops under the preheated broiler, cooking 5 to 7 minutes per side depending on thickness.

To oven-roast: Brown one side of pork chops in an oven-safe skillet on medium stovetop heat for 3 to 4 minutes, then flip chops and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven to roast for 20 minutes.

Serve immediately after any of these cooking methods.
