Instructions

  1. Prepare for boiling the rice mixture by heating olive oil in a 6-quart pot over medium heat.

  2. Sauté sofrito and ham for 1 minute in the hot oil.

  3. Stir in rice, water, sazón, and pigeon peas; bring the mixture to a boil for 2-3 minutes.
