Pork Chops With Sour Cream

Tender pork chops are prepared in a skillet with onions, mushrooms, and garlic, then finished with a rich sour cream and paprika sauce.

Instructions

  1. Season pork chops with salt and pepper; set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion until softened, then add mushrooms and cook until tender. Stir in garlic for 1 minute. Transfer cooked vegetables to a bowl.

  3. Increase heat to medium-high. Sear pork chops in the same skillet until browned on both sides.

  4. Drain excess fat. Return cooked vegetables to the skillet with the chops, add bay leaf and chicken broth. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1 hour, or until chops are very tender.

  5. Transfer chops to a platter and keep warm.

  6. Over high heat, reduce pan juices by half; remove bay leaf. Stir in sour cream and paprika over low heat until heated through, do not boil.

  7. Pour the finished sauce over the warm pork chops.
