Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl, then mix in vanilla bean seeds (or extract) and ground walnuts.

  3. Whisk flour and baking powder, then add to the butter mixture and combine. Incorporate 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk if the dough is too dry.

  4. On parchment-lined sheets, portion dough into small balls, roll into pencil shapes, then form into crescents. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes until golden.

  5. Combine confectioners' sugar and vanilla sugar in a small bowl, then sprinkle over hot cookies on the pan.

  6. Cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container.
