Poached Egg Recipe

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water, add a teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice and salt if using, then bring to a simmer.

  2. Crack a fresh egg into a strainer, then transfer it to a small bowl.

  3. Gently slide the egg from the bowl into the simmering water.

  4. Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the whites are firm and the yolks are semi-liquid.

  5. Lift the egg from the water with a slotted spoon, drain excess water, and serve immediately.
