Plum Sauce Recipe Using Dried Plums
A rich plum sauce is prepared using dried plums for an especially deep and satisfying flavor.

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a medium pot with 1/2 cup water, then bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally; add more water only if the sauce begins to stick.

Remove from heat, cool for 10 minutes, then puree until smooth using a blender, food processor, or immersion blender.

Store the finished plum sauce in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.

For extended storage, return the sauce to a pot and bring it to a boil, then immediately turn off the heat.

Spoon the hot sauce into clean quarter or half-pint canning jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.

Release air bubbles by pressing the sauce with a spoon, then wipe jar rims clean.

Process the filled jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes, adjusting time for high altitudes.
