Instructions

  1. Soak cedar planks for 1 to 2 hours while preparing a gas or charcoal grill for indirect medium heat (300 F to 375 F).

  2. Combine olive oil, mustard, garlic, pepper, and salt in a bowl.

  3. Place salmon steaks on the soaked planks, then spread the oil and mustard mixture evenly over both sides of the fish.

  4. Position planks on the grill over the inactive burner, close the lid, and cook until salmon reaches 145 F, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

  5. Remove salmon from the grill and serve immediately.
