Roll or stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface, ensuring no raised edges.

Bring dough and tools to the grill, then thoroughly oil the hot grates using canola oil and tongs.

Slide dough onto grates, close lid, and cook for about 2 minutes until light golden with grill marks; flip using a spatula and tongs.

Brush the grilled side with extra-virgin olive oil, then spread pizza sauce, mozzarella, and basil.
