Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to high heat (450-500 F) for indirect cooking, then arrange all toppings and oils nearby.

  2. Roll or stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface, ensuring no raised edges.

  3. Bring dough and tools to the grill, then thoroughly oil the hot grates using canola oil and tongs.

  4. Slide dough onto grates, close lid, and cook for about 2 minutes until light golden with grill marks; flip using a spatula and tongs.

  5. Brush the grilled side with extra-virgin olive oil, then spread pizza sauce, mozzarella, and basil.

  6. Close the lid and continue cooking for 2-4 minutes until the bottom is charred and cheese is melted.

  7. Remove pizza, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve, drizzling with extra-virgin olive oil if desired.
