Pickled Bitter Melon Salad Recipe

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pickling solution by either boiling its ingredients until the sugar dissolves and then cooling, or by shaking them in a jar until the sugar dissolves.

  2. Pour the prepared pickling solution over the vegetables in a jar.

  3. Allow the vegetables to steep in the solution overnight, or longer for enhanced flavor.

  4. Enhance the salad with fresh herbs, fried shallots, toasted garlic bits, or toasted nuts and sesame seeds.

  5. Optionally, add poached or grilled chicken or shrimp to transform it into a main dish.

  6. Store the pickled salad refrigerated, ensuring vegetables remain submerged in the solution for optimal preservation.
