Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Heat a skillet with olive oil and butter over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic until tender, about 6 to 8 minutes, then transfer to a large bowl and cool for 10 minutes.

  3. In the bowl with the cooled onions, mix in pesto, Parmesan cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.

  4. Add ground beef to the mixture and gently combine with your hands. Form into 1-1/2-inch meatballs and place them on a cookie sheet.

  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 F.
