Pecan Praline Cookies With Variations

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F and prepare baking sheets with grease or parchment.

  2. In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy, then add brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla.

  3. Gradually mix in flour on low speed.

  4. Fold in chopped pecans.

  5. Scoop dough into balls and arrange on baking sheets 2.5 inches apart.

  6. Grease a flat-bottomed glass, dip it in sugar, and press each cookie ball to flatten; repeat dipping glass in sugar as needed.

  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until firm and lightly browned on the bottoms.
