Pear Sorbet Recipe

A refreshing and light sorbet is created by blending and freezing fresh pears with sugar.

Instructions

  1. Quarter, core, peel, and chop the pears.

  2. Combine chopped pears, 1/2 cup pear nectar, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until pears are tender and the liquid thickens.

  3. Blend the cooked mixture until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and chill thoroughly in the refrigerator.

  4. Stir in the remaining 1 cup pear nectar and lemon juice. Freeze using an ice cream maker or by stirring in a metal pan every 30 minutes until frozen; whip if desired before final refreezing.
